Interview with Simone Ferrazzo
CEO and Founder of KyberEdge

Simone Ferrazzo

Origins and Vision

Simone, how did the idea of creating KyberEdge come about?
KyberEdge was born as a natural evolution. After years of work with Rete Informatica, where we developed cloud solutions, custom software, and projects on Microsoft platforms, I realized that the industrial world needed something different. Manufacturing companies were asking for solid yet simple solutions, something close to the reality of the factory floor and the everyday challenges of production. KyberEdge was created precisely for this: to combine the technological expertise developed in the IT world with the concreteness and pace of the industrial world.

Was there a specific moment when you realized something new was needed?
Yes, actually several moments. Every time I visited a factory and saw extraordinary technologies being used at just 10% of their potential, or disconnected systems that couldn’t communicate, I understood that the problem wasn’t the lack of tools, it was the lack of a common language and data model between IT and OT. KyberEdge was created to bridge that gap, to speak the language of the factory, but with the vision of the cloud and data.

Why the name “KyberEdge”?
“Kyber” recalls the concept of cybernetics, the study of control and communication in complex systems. “Edge” represents the point of contact, the border, the place where things actually happen: the factory, the machine, the data generated in the field. Together, they mean “intelligence at the edge”: technology that lives where it’s needed, close to the process, the data, and the people.

Experience and Motivation

What did your experience with Rete Informatica teach you?
That technology alone is not enough. You can have the best cloud or the best software, but if you don’t understand the context in which it’s used, the production times, the priorities of those working on the line, the daily reality, you’re not bringing real value. KyberEdge was created to connect these worlds: technology and the factory, strategic vision and operational reality.

Working with industrial companies, what have you most often seen missing?
I’ve seen a lot of silos, scattered data, systems that don’t talk to each other, and decisions made by intuition because information arrives too late or in fragments. But I’ve also seen a strong desire for change, a wish to make information management easier, but little clarity on where to start. KyberEdge exists precisely for this: to provide structure, vision, and tools that help machines, people, and processes communicate effectively.

The Mission of KyberEdge

What is KyberEdge’s mission?
To be the meeting point between technology and industry, between data and decisions, between today and the future of manufacturing. We want to help companies achieve true innovation, to adopt new technologies while navigating current regulations and incentives. Every project must have a clear, tangible purpose: to improve productivity, quality, or the ability to make informed decisions.

What does “industrial digitalization” mean to you?
It’s not just about installing sensors or building dashboards. It’s about creating an ecosystem where data has meaning, flows easily, and turns into concrete actions for people. Digitalization means understanding, not just connecting. Above all, it means giving people innovative yet simple tools designed around the real experience of those who live the factory every day, enhancing what already works and making it smarter and more sustainable.

People and Method

What kind of team have you built around KyberEdge?
A small team with deep and complementary expertise. We have people who come from the cloud and software world, as well as those who’ve worked inside factories: on machines, on processes. This allows us to speak to everyone, from plant managers to line technicians, and to build solutions that truly work.

What’s your approach to projects?
We start from data, but above all, from people. We like to listen, observe, and understand where problems arise and what the real priorities are. Then we build modular, scalable, often cloud native solutions that allow companies to grow step by step, without disruption.

If you had to describe KyberEdge in three words?
Concrete, innovative, intelligent. Concrete because we focus only on what brings real value. Innovative because we use the latest technologies to simplify processes and aim for results. Intelligent because we put data and AI at the service of decision making, not the other way around.

Looking Ahead

How do you imagine the industry of the future?
It will be more interconnected, more aware, and more data-driven. Companies that can read in real time what’s happening on their production lines will have a huge competitive advantage. Artificial intelligence and edge computing will be at the heart of this transformation.

And what role will KyberEdge play in this scenario?
We want to be the partner that guides companies along this journey: with pragmatism, method, and vision. We don’t sell products; we build tailored solutions starting from a clear goal: turning data into value.

What motivates you every day in this project?
The fact that we can truly make a difference. Seeing a company improve efficiency or make faster, more informed decisions thanks to our projects is our greatest satisfaction. Knowing that behind every line of code there’s a piece of industry becoming smarter, that’s what drives us forward.

Simone, what message would you like to leave for those reading this interview?
I’d say that industrial innovation is not a destination, it’s a journey. A path made of small steps, of listening and collaboration. KyberEdge was created to accompany companies along this path, helping them understand where technology can truly make a difference and how it can improve the daily work of those living the factory every day.
I deeply believe that digital transformation must be accessible, understandable, and useful to everyone, only then can we speak of true innovation. It’s a journey full of challenges, but with the right support and expertise, it can be faced with confidence and awareness. And along this journey, technology should be an ally: a tool to improve people’s lives, simplify work, and build—step by step—a more human, conscious, and forward-looking industry.
